Sometimes I feel alot like this post is going to read. Like a rock skipping over water, bouncing from place to place without ever making the full plunge. Well, this month, I’m going to be taking on more water than normal. And no, it’s actually because I’ll be passing on the yearly white-water rafting trip that it will cause it to happen. Sorry, Newby. Maybe next year.
First things first, I owe you all a report on the last couple month’s books. I’ll post my April book, Lullaby, review by week’s end and the May book, Ender’s Game, will be finished next week. I decided on the June book through the personal contact I made with Sandy Lender a few week’s back at ConQuesT 39 and will be reading her book, Choices Meant for Gods. It’s in the mail now and I’m eagerly waiting.
Secondly, I submitted my first chapter into The Writing Show: First-Chapter-of-a-Novel Contest. The deadline for entry is June 20 if you’re interested. If you are not familiar with The Writing Show, it’s a podcast that is well-produced and friendly to the fantasy/horror and scifi genres.
Continuing on the theme of submissions, the next few weeks I’ll be working on my submission for Viable Paradise. If you haven’t heard of Viable Paradise, it’s a very select writing workshop for fantasy and scifi types held at Martha’s Vineyard each year. Right up my alley of Wizards and Wine, huh?
Finally, I’m expecting confirmation today, but I might have another interesting iron in the fire to tell you about this week. It’s a very cool idea and hopefully I can take part with a few wrinkles that might interest all of you, too.
