Meet Brent Bowen
Brent Bowen is a writer who simply writes what he would like to read. And somewhere in all of that he fell in love with the world of Nydimm.
Turned onto reading at an early age--the product of bible stories given as punishment for stealing candy from a drug store--Brent devours books of all genres. And though Samson and Delilah is still one of his favorites, he would prefer to blend mysticism with archeologist canines and electronically charged armor.
Born in Ohio, Brent and his family bounced from state-to-state as a child, and he sometimes gave up on making new friends, something he says contributed to his active imagination. His family finally settled in the Kansas City area, long enough for him to earn a BA in Journalism and work on an English major at The University of Kansas. He has worked in the public relations profession for a number of well-known companies, received national recognition for his work and obliged requests to speak at conferences. Heck, he has even made some money, but Brent would easily say goodbye if he could write "real" fiction full-time.
Brent has always appreciated the genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy, counting The Empire Strikes Back and Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass as his favorite movie and book, respectively. But you can also catch him crack open the occasional work of English Literature, Literary Fiction, Biography, Memoir, Mystery or Comic/Graphic Novel.
Brent currently lives in a Kansas City suburb with his wife, two children, and their mutt Monty, though he perpetually mourns the recent passing of his Siberian Husky Durham of whom Range is largely based. He has been known to wage lightsaber battles with his son, drink at least two cups of coffee before heading to the gym, leave accidental messages of himself singing on his friends' phones, and hide from the world at the local bookstore isolating himself with his iPod.
