Strange Sobriquet
After centuries of placid existence, the final piece in achieving utopia for the world of Nydimm is believed to have arrived when Mith, the twelfth and final Cirri Child, is born.
But in the days following Mith's birth, there is no utopia, only tragedy. The Sundu, an ancient evil cult, launches a coordinated attack on the children. Mith escapes, a sect of scholars commissioning their canine adventurers to steal the boy away moments before the kidnappers arrive.
Only one other child survives. The act of bravery performed by an unsuspecting squire named Gabriel when he thwarts a violent attack on the Princess of Nydimm, the oldest of the Cirri Children.
One of the prophets possessing a gemstone birthmark of royalty, Mith is already special, but the scholars also believe the infant is the heir of foreign blood prophesied to save their world. With this belief and the murders of the other children, they plot his evacuation from Nydimm. The plan leads to his daring journey with an upright canine adventurer as they attempt to cross the Union, a bridge to our world, fleeing the evil cult who wish to kill the boy.
The Wardens, guardians of Nydimm, unite and attempt to rescue the remaining children. Among them is Gabriel, and the quest is the catalyst for the teenager's meteoric rise from servitude to the ranks of the protectors and his final destiny: the curse of a champion who is literally remembered for no longer than 15 minutes.
All of the heroes make a great sacrifice in keeping the Sundu from reaching their goal.
